捕鱼奇蹟显示复活的主永远和祂的教会同在。圣奥斯定指出：「基督站在永生的岸边，向右边撒出的网给天主的国带来子民。」门徒整夜劳苦一无所获，却由于按著耶稣的命令再次撒网而获得丰收，因此教会的宣讲者必须完全信赖基督的助佑。
伯多禄一个人将网拉上岸，以及耶稣和他独特的对话，显示基督把教会托付给。伯多禄曾轻率莽撞地自夸要为耶稣而死（若十二37），却三次否认耶稣；当时他并不了解，基督来是为把生命赐给一切属于自己的人，当然也包含伯多禄。基督必须先为伯多禄的得救而死亡，然后伯多禄才能为了基督的福音而死亡。
伯多禄的经历反应了人的真实情况：在耶稣受难时不敢承认耶稣，在基督复活的光照下看见自己是罪人；而耶稣再次的召叫促使伯多禄悔改，而使罪恶转变成恩宠。拥有教会职务的人都应记取这个教导：如果我们爱耶稣，就不可只照顾自己，而应该牧放耶稣的羊群，并且不是当作自己的羊，而是耶稣的羊群，在他们当中寻求耶稣的光荣，而非自己的光荣。

I am part of the fellowship of unashamed, I have the Holy Spirit's power.The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of Jesus. I don't look back, let up. slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed; my present makes sense, my future secure. I'm finished and done with low living, small plannings, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized , praised, regarded or rewarded. I know life by faith, lean on Jesus' presence, walk by patience, am uplifed by prayer, and I labor with power.
My force is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my compainons few, my guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be brought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up and preached for the cause of Christ, I am a dcisciple of Jesus. I must go until he comes , give utill I drop,, preach utill all know and work utill he stops me. And when he comes for his own, he will have no problem recognizing me..... My banner will be clear.

有一位青年，老是埋怨自己时运不济，发不了财，终日愁眉不展。这一天，走过来一个须发皆白的老人，问：「年轻人，为什么不快乐？」
「我不明白，为什么我总是这么穷。」
「穷？你很富有嘛！」老人由衷地说。
「这从何说起？」年轻人不解。
老人反问道：「假如现在斩掉你一个手指头，给你1千元，你干不干？」
「不干。」年轻人回答。
「假如砍掉你一只手，给你1万元，你干不干？」
「不干。」
「假如使你双眼都瞎掉，给你10万元，你干不干？」
「不干。」
「假如让你马上变成80岁的老人，给你100万，你干不干？」
「不干。」
「假如让你马上死掉，给你1000万，你干不干？」
「不干。」
「这就对了，你已经拥有超过1000万的财富，为什么还哀叹己贫穷呢？」老人笑吟吟地问道。
青年愕然无言，突然什么都明白了。

复活的信仰不是来自「证明」，复活的信仰不能证明也不待证明。空坟不是复活的证据，而只是一个「记号」，一个指向复活喜讯的记号。这个记号的意义原本相当隐晦，只有当复活的主亲自显现（启示自己）时，空坟才成为一个会说话的记号，告诉吾人那位被钉者已经复活，而且带着肉身返回到父的光荣中。

三个离家闯天下成功的儿子聚在一起，讨论各自送给老妈的礼物。
大儿子说：『我为妈妈盖了一栋大房子。』
二儿子说：『我送给她一辆宾士，还附司机。』
三儿子说：『我打败你们了，你们知道妈妈非常喜欢读圣经，你们也知道她的眼睛不好. 我送她的是一只会朗诵全本圣经的棕色鹦鹉，总共动用二十名修道院的修士，花了整整十二年的时间来教这只鹦鹉，我还得每年都要奉献十万元，他们才肯训练牠。不过 这是值得的，妈妈只要说出章节名称，那只鹦鹉就会开始背诵圣经给她听。』

给大儿子的写道：『Charles，你盖的房子好大。我只住在其中一个房间，但是我却得打扫整栋房子。』
给二儿子的写说：『James，我太老!没办法外出旅行。我整天都待在家里，所以我从来没坐过那台宾士。而且，那个司机好粗鲁，好没礼貌！』
她给三儿子的信柔和许多：『最亲爱的Thomas，你是三个儿子中唯一知道妈妈喜欢什么的，谢谢你送的那只鸡，非常好吃。

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
